Weather Shield’s Architecturally Inspired Premium Series Offers Rich Options in Aluminum Clad Wood Windows and Patio Doors

Weather Shield® Windows & Doors is proud to highlight its Premium Series™ of aluminum clad windows and patio doors in its booth (C4232) at the 2016 International Builders’ Show. The company’s most option-rich, architecturally inspired product line includes double hung, crank and push-out casement, awning and sliding windows in single or multi-unit configurations; and hinged, sliding, telescoping, lift & slide and bi-fold patio doors. Featuring the largest range of standard sizes ever offered by Weather Shield, casements are available up to 3'6" x 8'0" and awning windows as large as 5'0" x 4'0". Matching transoms and picture windows are available to complement operating windows.
“The Premium Series is our most comprehensive collection of wood windows and patio doors and is designed to meet the discriminating tastes of those looking for the highest quality windows and doors with traditional old-world craftsmanship,” said Dave Koester, Weather Shield brand manager. “Each unit has clean sightlines, superior energy efficiency and thermal performance, and options to appeal to virtually any architect, designer, builder and homeowner.”
Premium Options for Custom Homes
The Premium Series boasts traditional architectural details such as a wood-covered jambliner and an array of options to customize a window and door package. Interiors are available in standard pine, Douglas fir, character alder, maple, oak, cherry and mahogany. They can be factory-finished in four stain finishes: clear satin, fruitwood, chestnut, golden oak; painted with white latex; or primed for finishing at the jobsite. To complement these finishes, hardware is available in white, tan, brushed nickel and rustic bronze.

The durable aluminum-clad exteriors are offered in 12 popular colors: white, cameo, tan, desert tan, Hartford green, craftsman bronze, adobe, heritage brown, brick red, grey matters, obsidian and jet black.  An additional expanded palette of 43 designer colors is offered as well. Weather Shield also has the technology to custom match any color and apply it to an order.
For added charm, homeowners can add grilles to the Premium Series. Available options are: simulated divided lites (SDL), grilles between the glass (GBG) or perimeter wood grilles.
The Premium Series is available with energy-efficient glazing choices, such as Zo-e-shield 5, Zo-e-shield 5 Extreme, Zo-e-shield 6, Zo-e-shield 7, Zo-e-shield SafeGuard and Zo-e-shield SafeGuard Certified.
Incorporating the Latest Technology
The Premium Series features the latest innovations in foundational technology from Weather Shield: TriCore™ frame technology and the Symmetry Balance System™.
Weather Shield’s TriCore frame technology on the Premium Series’ casements, awnings and select picture windows delivers improved structural performance, reduces water infiltration and weathering. The technology combines highly moisture-resistant materials, a fusion-welded sub frame, and thick, multi-chamber components to achieve new levels of energy efficiency and thermal performance.
Weather Shield’s exclusive Symmetry Balance System design offers ultra-smooth and quiet operation and is neatly covered with a concealed jambliner cover. This uniquely engineered, constant-force balance system is rated to counterbalance a higher percentage of the weight of the sash, making the window easier to open.
Product Lines for Multiple Market Segments
The Premium Series is one of three product lines unveiled since 2012 that demonstrates the innovation for which Weather Shield has been known since its founding in the 1950s. Along with the Premium Series, the Aspire Series of vinyl-clad wood windows and the Signature Series of aluminum-clad wood windows and doors combine advanced technology and exquisite attention to detail, which position Weather Shield strongly with architects/designers and custom, spec and volume builders.
