Weather Shield ‘Reinvented’ Campaign Marks Renewed Value Proposition And Company’s Commitment To Innovation And New Products

7/10/2012

During the past few weeks, Weather Shield® Windows & Doors has been giving its window dealers a glimpse into the future of Weather Shield – a “ReInvented” Weather Shield. Behind the ReInvented campaign is the launch of three new product lines, new advancements in those products’ foundational technology, an improved value proposition for homeowners and an overall sense of renewed momentum.

“Our ongoing commitment to innovation and new products are at the heart of our company and have been for 57 years,” said Mark Schield, vice president of Weather Shield. “This summer, the industry will see noticeable changes in Weather Shield – changes that we’re confident will keep our business and our dealers’ businesses strong. The ReInvented campaign represents new products and marketing, and much more. ‘ReInvented’ captures the idea behind changes we’re making to streamline manufacturing and continuously improve our quality. It points to our confidence in the company and our investment in the future. It signifies a renewed momentum and positive steps forward.”

New Products
Weather Shield conducted extensive research into its existing products, other manufacturers’ offerings and the marketplace, which helped the company identify market segments that offer opportunities for growth, and the products, performance standards, options and price points that could compete in those segments.

This research ultimately led to three product new lines, which will be introduced progressively throughout the summer and fall, including:

  • An architectural product line of high-end aluminum clad wood windows and patio doors for premier custom homes, featuring improved performance and traditional, architecturally correct aesthetics.
  • A mid-price product line of aluminum clad wood windows and patio doors, delivering affordable luxury with features and options that surpass typical in mid-priced wood windows. This is a new product category for the Weather Shield brand.
  • An entry-level offering of vinyl clad wood windows and patio doors for modest budgets.

Thermal and structural performance testing on these new products indicate they will be among the highest performing units on the market, in part due to new technology being introduced on these lines. One of the new innovations includes a new balance system for double hungs that help the units to be among the first to achieve a Class 3 AAMA rating. Weather Shield casements, awnings and select picture windows will also incorporate new frame technology that improves upon existing products’ thermal performance.

In addition to improved efficiency, the new product lines will stand out aesthetically as well. The double hungs will offer an all-new wood jambliner, to provide a seamless look from frame to sash. The redesigned casements also feature superb architectural details and clean sightlines.

New Value Proposition“With these product changes and additions, Weather Shield will be able to serve virtually every market segment,” Schield said, “positioning us as the go-to window and door manufacturer for every building and remodeling project, and supporting the growth and continued success of our company and our dealers’ business.”
